WHAT

The Tulane International Baseball Arbitration Competition (TIBAC) is the nation’s premier mock salary arbitration competition, hosted annually by Tulane Law School in New Orleans. Now in its 20th year, TIBAC brings together top law students from across the country to sharpen their advocacy skills, network with industry professionals, and gain practical experience in baseball’s salary arbitration process. Competitors submit written briefs and present oral arguments before panels of distinguished arbitrators, including attorneys, agents, and executives from Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association. The competition mirrors the real-world arbitration system, giving students invaluable exposure to the intersection of sports, law, and business. The 20th Annual TIBAC will take place January 14–15, 2027 in New Orleans, Louisiana. TIBAC continues to foster the next generation of sports lawyers, connecting aspiring advocates with leaders in the field while celebrating Tulane’s long-standing commitment to sports law.

DETAILS

The competition will take place in person in New Orleans at Tulane Law School (6329 Freret Street). Registration will close on December 21st, 2026, or when capacity is met, whichever occurs first. More details regarding this event will be provided at a later date.
